Goal: Celebrating Essential Workers

Hi Everyone!
I am a Physician Assistant that recently graduated from the University of Iowa PA Program. I'm so excited to say that I've finally received my license! While I wait to start practicing & helping patients, I wanted to find other ways to give back to those working their butts off to kick covid to the curb. Christmas is my FAVORITE time of year simply because I LOVE to give gifts. While I was on my rotations I saw some gifts being given in paper lunch bags  with a rubber band to remind nurses of their resilience, and a piece of paper in it thanking them for all of their hardwork. I also saw how hard it was on nurses, doctors, and APP's when their colleagues were getting sick, patients were dying, and COVID rates were only getting worse. My goal is to create something that truly shows essential workers that they are loved and appreciated for all that they do, to put a smile on their face and give them some happiness amongst all of this hardship.

So why the name Hidden Lens?

Well it all started with a typo. With my name being Lena, it was eaily typed Lens & thus my nickname became Lens. I trialed a lot of different names (my favorite being 'Where the sidewalk Lens'), however they were all too long and had no connection to me. I like the concept of a hidden lens since we all need a reminder that there is another way to look at all of our situations; a bright side to whatever hardship we are facing. While I am opening this shop with the main goal of helping our essential workers find a bright side, I hope that in the future my gifts can expand past gifts we give to those facing obstacles in life. I hope that my gifts can become just another reason to smile during an ordinarily extraordinary day.
